I'm exceedingly grateful that I was taught how to use guided imagery at the young age of 16. I've used it through out my life to help me achieve goals (winning bodybuilding contests, performing well) and for healing both myself and others.
I've had back problems for almost 20 years but rarely have pain even though some of my discs are herniated. I credit that to exercise that I do, some of are based in yoga. I also believe that my daily practice of meditation and guided imagery have gone a long way in keeping my back pain to a minimum.

Magical Mind Body: "The Love You Make..." The Beatles
The Magical Mind Body is for me to rant, rave and share my ruminations about the mind/body connections, spirituality and the Universe. Tonight I'm considering love. Love is magic. We usually think of magical love as more of the connection we make on a more hormonal basis then an actual "love" basis. But who am I to define love? It's easy as a woman to think that they love a man after they have sex with them a few times. I've noticed from the true confessions that I get from guys that it doesn't always quite work that way with them.
The point of this post, which I ignored with the paragraph above is "The love you make is equal to the love you take" written to beautifully by The Beatles. I don't know why it took me so long to understand this statement, but it's a great lyric that truly gives me great comfort and validation. I feel and love people pretty genuinely which can lead to heartbreak but it doesn't for me. Really, the love that I "make" or give to people is the love that I "take". I don't mean that in the "reap as you sow" sense. I mean it in that when you love people unconditionally, you are loving yourself unconditionally as well. In my world, that's magical.

Magical Mind Body: The Magic Begins
This blog and the portion of my company that deals with this is my personal baby. I know that many of my colleagues shake their heads in agreement with these comments, and some of them do embrace them. But some are too "scientific" and concrete, which is fine because I need that around me for balance.
Magical Mind Body discusses and works with the way the mind processes "reality" and can actually change it.
A very important note to all of those who are jumping on the Mind/Body bandwagon due to innovative movies like "What the Bleep Do We Know" or "The Secret": While are thought are extremely important, it's the EMOTION behind them that counts.
This is an important point because you can think and repeat something over and over but if you can't "see" and or "feel" it, it won't have as much power and could cause you to subjagate an experience that you may need "deal with" in order for you to really have all that you deserve. So, a complete avoidence of everthing that is "negative" in terms of thoughts or emotions might not be the best thing after all.
That being said, maintaining a happy open attitude with loving thoughts is the a great way to magically opening yourself to mind/body magic.
